Directly reporting to the Engineering Director, in your role you will be:

Program Planning

  • Provide technical expertise and input to the Director of Engineering during the estimating and planning phase of a program to establish an appropriate engineering schedule and resource plan.
  • Advising on engineering software and license requirements for a given program.

Program Leadership

  • Serve as the focal for all technical communication and coordination with direct customer and suppliers for assigned program(s).
  • Assign tasks and deliverables to the selected program team based on schedule priorities, capability and availability.
  • Lead and manage execution of engineering deliverables with selected program team per agreed schedule.
  • Establish communication plan and meeting rhythm with selected program team to drive accountability to deliverables.
  • Communicate and advise on all aspects to complete workscope on-time and on-budget for assigned program(s).
  • Support quote requests to suppliers and review of same to ensure that the work scope is clearly defined and properly captured.
  • Coordinate and report-out weekly with Director of Engineering to ensure schedules are up-to-date and resource requirements are met.
  • Guide, mentor and train the selected program team while under your leadership for a given program.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging team environment that promotes great morale and collaboration.
  • Provide on-site support and conduct surveys at customer facilities as required.

Engineering Processes

  • Define, document and establish best practices by engineering discipline, program or customer.
  • Assist with development and documentation of engineering standards, processes and training materials.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the aviation industry, specifically in interior completions and systems would be an asset.
  • University degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or College degree in design/drafting
  • Self Motivated detail-oriented team player, demonstrating good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to direct oneself and others autonomously with initiative and proactivity.
  • Proficient with CATIA V5 (Mechanical Design Workbench), AutoCAD & Solidworks would be an asset.
  • Experience in Generative Shape Design Workbench within CATIA V5 & 3DS PLM would be an asset.
  • Proficient in written and verbal French and English.
